“Being the richest man in the cemetery…

“Being the richest man in the cemetery doesn’t matter to me … Going to bed at night saying we’ve done something wonderful… that’s what matters to me.”

The first movie I made on my iPhone

I recently bought an iPhone 4, but I never really had much of a chance to make use of the video recording features to make a movie.
Today I was bored, so I decided to use my iPhone to make a movie out of some of the videos I recorded at the opening of the Apple Store in the Lincoln Park neighborhood of Chicago. I downloaded iMovie and set to work, and this video is the result.

Note that this movie was completely recorded, edited and uploaded using my iPhone 4.

‘Get a Mac’ ads finally ending

Apple has finally decided to end the famous ‘Get a Mac‘ ads starring Justin Long and John Hodgman. The first ‘Get a Mac’ ad aired in 2006. The ads were created for Apple by TBWA. The ‘Get a Mac’ ads have been one of my favorite ad series, and I will be sad to see it come to an end. The ‘Get a Mac’ ads have been replaced by ‘Why You’ll Love a Mac‘ on the Apple website.

You can see almost all the 66 ‘Get a Mac’ ads that aired on Television at Adweek.

Meanwhile, Here is a recap of the ‘Get a Mac’ ads in 3 mins:

MacRumors Blood Drive

MacRumors, a website dedicated to news and rumors about Apple products, announced today that they will be holding a blood drive during the months of May and June 2010.

This blood drive is unique since there is no actual location that the blood drive is taking place at. Instead, they are encouraging visitors to their website to go out and donate blood in their communities at any blood collection center (Hospital, Community Center, Red Cross etc)

Donated blood is needed every second, all year, by people recovering from accidents or illness, and only the generosity of others can provide it.

I applaud their decision to support a community service effort such as this. I will be going out and donating blood and will also be encouraging my friends and family to also donate blood. I encourage you to the do the same.

Apple iPad available for pre-order !

So,  some of the online tech blogs are reporting that Apple will be allowing customers to pre-order an iPad starting today at 5:30 AM Pacific Time.

I need one! Well not really, but I really want one, I already have an iPod Touch and a Macbook Pro, so I can’t really justify that purchase on my college student budget.

Well anyway for those folks out there with cash to burn, get your credit cards out and go on over to the Apple site to place a pre-order.
