What I’m Reading

I have been reading a lot lately about User Experience (UX) Design on the internet. Recently, I came across the website of a UX Design professional, Nick Finck. On his website, he has a really great list of books that talk about User Experience design. After going through the list, I decided to go out and buy a copy of ‘The Design of Everyday Things‘ by Donald A. Norman.

Description of the Book

Even the smartest among us can feel inept as we fail to figure out which light switch or oven burner to turn on, or whether to push, pull, or slide a door. The fault lies in product design that ignore the needs of users and the principles of cognitive psychology. A bestseller in the United States, this bible on the cognitive aspects of design contains examples of both good and bad design and simple rules that designers can use to improve the usability of objects as diverse as cars, computers, doors, and telephones.

I had only just started reading the book, and I was completely immersed in it before I realized it. I have to study for my finals, so I won’t have time to read the book until after finals. I will be posting a review of the book later on. I can’t wait to finish reading the book !
